The IT Sites are comprised of the following four closed landfill facilities:

  • Panoche: 2251 Lake Herman Road, Benicia, CA 94510
    • The facility occupies 500 acres and accepted Class I hazardous waste from at least 1968 to 1986.  It received closure certification on March 27, 2003 and transitioned to post-closure status pursuant to a Permit issued by DTSC on June 20, 2003, under EPA Identification Number CAD000060012.
  • Vine Hill Complex: 896 Waterbird Way, Martinez, CA 94553
    • The Vine Hill Complex includes the Vine Hill and Baker facilities.  The Vine Hill facility occupies approximately 41 acres.  The Baker facility occupies approximately 30 acres.  The facilities accepted Class I hazardous waste from at least 1963 to 1989.  Closure certification was obtained on June 23, 1999 and the Facility transitioned to post-closure status pursuant to a Permit issued by DTSC on June 11, 2003, under EPA Identification Number CAD982521460. 
  • Montezuma Hills: 6292 Little Honker Bay Road, Rio Vista, CA 94571
    • The facility occupies 156 acres and accepted Class I hazardous waste from at least 1979 to 1986.  It received closure certification on March 18, 1992 and transitioned to post-closure status pursuant to a Permit issued by DTSC on January 31, 1998, under EPA Identification Number CAD079089512. 
  • Benson Ridge: 7620 S. Hwy 29, Kelseyville, CA 95451
    • The facility occupies 150 acres and accepted Class I hazardous waste from at least 1979 to 1984.  It received closure certification on March 24, 1993 and transitioned to post-closure status pursuant to a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (“RCRA”), Hazardous Waste Facility Post-Closure Permit (“Permit”) issued by the DTSC on December 31, 1997, under United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) Identification Number CAD000633289.
